An Efficiency Investigation and Experimental Verification of EGS with VSCF
Original language description
A new generation of mobile electrical power sources is based on the use of Variable Speed ? Constant Frequency technology (VSCF). These optimally controlled variable speed technologies and permanent magnet generators can achieve higher efficiency. The constant frequency and voltage must be controlled by power electronics. This paper presents a short review of some problems in the efficiency investigation of power electronics and presents a comparison of EGS concepts versus power electronics to improve power system efficiency. We consider here measurements made and experimental verification of 7 kW EGS. The investigation and experimental verification of efficiency reveal future trends in this area of power sources to achieve the maximum efficiency.
