    Plasma Nitriding of Cylindrical Cavities

    The paper is focused on the study of plasma nitriding process inside the cylindrical cavities of 6, 8, and 10.5 mm diameters. It was investigated the influence of the nitriding atmosphere pressure of 4, 5, and 6 mbar on the surface hardness of material and the thickness of nitrided layer. The mathematical model describing the surface hardness of material dependence on the cylindrical cavity depth and diameter, the nitriding atmosphere pressure and the nitriding duration was developed.
