Reliability Requirements Allocation for Combat Vehicle Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making
Original language description
The rational apportionment of system reliability requirements among its items is a complex issue within the reliability allocation process. Equal apportionment is the simplest way to allocate requirements but it is not objective approach. Weighted apportionment that takes into account importance/weight of system items is more rational approach to allocate reliability requirements. Importance/weight of system item is usually determined using selected criteria. The determination of items importance in system structure with respect to the criteria might be construed as a matter of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). The paper offers the utilization of MCDM methods as a powerful tool for evaluating system items importance with the goal to achieve optimal allocation of reliability requirements. Saaty's Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) seem to be suitable MCDM methods for achieving optimal reliability allocation. The practical application of proposed methods based on AHP is illustrated on
