    This article focus on deep hole drilling of small-caliber barrels by a barrel drill which is influences characteristics of the drilled hole by a number of phenomena. Attendant phenomena in deep hole drilling influence both mechanical properties and the quality of the hole, as well as efficiency of the drilling process. The article focuses on the analysis of parameters concerning roughness of the bore surface. This work provides results of measuring surface roughness of different barrel bores drilled bya barrel drill at different pressures of plasma nitriding. The results point out changes of surface roughness along the whole length of the drilled barrel. The results point may be applied to other projects which are focused on barrels system.
