Original language description
The Visual Glide slope indicators are except runway edge lights the most important part of the airport lightning system. Currently are realized with PAPI (Precision Approach Light Indicator) system or VASIS (Visual approach Slope Indicator System). Bothof them mostly use serial method for their supplying and currently use only halogen bulbs as the light sources. The paper shows new using of LED light sources in the Precision approach Path Indicator (PAPI) light. It describes the power LEDs, which are usable for this, the way of the LED control and presents real technical solution of the PAPI LED control unit which is based on an eZ80Acclaim microprocessor. In additional presents a LED chip cooling in the very small space and control and diagnostics inthe Android environment. At least the paper shows the method for PAPI supplying with the parallel supply network.
