EHAS Application to Existing Fighter Jet ? Weight Considerations
Original language description
During every design process related to aircraft of any kind one of the most considered features is overall weight. It is desired to keep this value as low as possible with reasonable cost and component lifetime. EHAS (Electro Hydrostatic Actuation System) as progressive technology used in design of advanced aircraft hydraulic systems is not an exception. The main goal of this paper is to discus influence of power to weight ratio of EHAS components on overall weight of already existing fighter jet aircraft. Some examples related to McDonell Douglas F/A 18 C/D aircraft [1] are used to illustrate the topic. Currently available components and unoptimised system demands are considered.
