Tools and Processes for Affordable Machines
Original language description
In this article, integration refers to a concurrent approach to making products which closely binds the independent phases of the classic serial product lifecycle and re-engineers the design, analysis, manufacturing, and support processes towards ensuring the efficiency of the overall product development process. Integration enables designers to manage processes and share data effectively, and enables tools to interoperate. By most accounts, an order-of magnitude reduction in overall cycle-time and costcan be achieved when integration of business, design and production processes is standard engineering practice.
