The paper is concerned with the identification and evaluation of operating fluids in vehicles. The first part describes types of operating fluids and their specifications. The second part in-troduces ways of their identification and evaluation by subjective and objective methods. The final part provides a sample of identification and evaluation of selected service liquids, in which infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transformation was used (FTIR).
