Using template matching technique for object detection in infrared images
Original language description
Template matching is a technique in digital image processing for finding parts of an image which are the most similar as template image. It can be used for quality control, a mobile robot navigation or edges detection in image. This technique is often considered to be a very basic, limited approach to the most interesting problems of computer vision. In this paper, we focus on searching abilities of this technique using correlation in applications for objects detection in infrared images. This problem was tested in programing environment Matlab and tested pictures as well as video sequences were acquired by cameras RayCam C.A. 1884 and thermoIMAGER 160. For object detection is often used threshold method which is based on significant features of an object. The detected object has often different traits than the background.
