Evaluation of the Effects of High Speed Truck Crash into a Bridge Column
Original language description
This paper is based on the assumption that a vehicle might be misused to make an intentional attack on selected parts of traffic infrastructure to achieve the goal of breaking or limiting transport, or causing significant aterial damage. The point of our interest is in this case a heavy truck which intentionally crashes into a column bridge at a high speed in order to cause damage to the bridge. The article introduces selected rocedures for evaluating effects of the truck crash into a column and evaluates their practical applicability and efficiency when evaluating traffic infrastructure vulnerability. The practical application of single methods and their results are presented at the example of a selected highway bridge column in the Czech Republic.
