Original language description
This paper deals with the problem of optical fiber communication in potentially explosive atmosphere/hazardous area. Optical fibers are traditionally safe and useful in all environment. But it is shown, that there are cases of dangerous situations with hazardous mix of explosive gas which can cause an insuperable problem for optical fibers. Optical fibers in these situations, unfortunately, lost their basic abilities. The security of hazardous environments is crucial for the protection of property and especially humans.
