Original language description
Problems related to infrastructure affects belong to hot and urgent issues. Rail infrastructure can impact state economy and its security significantly both in positive and negative way. The Czech Republic offers one of the densest railway networks in Europe; this may prove to be an advantage in case of delivering various long-distance heavy shipments or transporting a large number of people in a short time. However, it is not fully utilized and it ultimately results in a disadvantage in terms of competitiveness. The paper is dealing with the situation in Czech Republic critical infrastructure, mainly rail infrastructure. There is characterized the importance of critical infrastructure, its components, need for overall system security as well as current situation in terms of security and protection. The final part discusses activities and measures taken after an incident.
