    Instruments Used for Terrain Evaluation in the Army of the Czech Republic

    The article deals with the trafficability of terrain. The trafficability is the ability to overcome the given way. The exact evaluation of trafficability is one of the assumption of mobility ensuring. And just mobility is one of the basics of successful task fulfilment in the crisis situations as well as in a state of war. And that is why there are described instruments for measuring the trafficability. The first ones are used by the Czech Army - the telescopic penetrometer, the engineer crowbar and the second one is the trafficability test set used by some NATO countries. The aim of the article is to apprise with these instruments, with the procedures of measuring, the calculations and the most important with the results of the comparing measurement made with them.
