Optimization of Nonuniform Linear Array Configuration for Reduced Number of Elements
Original language description
Antenna array configuration plays an important part in estimating direction of signal arrival (DOA). The nonuniform linear arrays (NLA) are used for DOA estimation with reduced number of elements which demonstrated more advantages than uniform linear array (ULA). This paper presents a study of optimization for NLA configuration using high-resolution DOA estimation method. Proposed is also an optimization algorithm that improved performance of DOA estimation for multiple incoming signals. To evaluate the performance of the optimization algorithm, probability of resolution and accuracy for two closed incoming signals was selected. The optimal configuration showed very good results in comparison with other configurations using the same aperture and number of elements.
