    This paper deals with the use of an aircraft monitoring system for quality assessment of an airport maneuvering area. Having selected an essential airplane and its monitoring system, the focus is aimed at automatization of surface quality and defect inspection. Following this, the data set from the monitoring system is processed and correlated with the real surface condition assessed by traditional means.
