The paper deals with the author’s experience in mentoring usage at the Faculty of Military Technology (FMT), University of Defence (UoD) in Brno, the Czech Republic. Firstly, the content of the term mentoring is described. Secondly, the following questions were addressed: why mentoring was used at the FMT UoD, what effects this tool has brought and what can be expected in the future.
