Experimental Analysis of Blunt Impact on Human Head Caused by a Moving Object – Injury Potential Approach
Original language description
The presented study deals with a situation when unsecured objects are transported in a military vehicle. These objects can generally have several usages for a specific mission or personal purposes. Typically these objects can be represented by guns, armaments, laptops, or other equipment. If a vehicle collision situation occurs during a specific military mission or training event, the unsecured objects can act as projectiles inside the military vehicle and can cause an injury to the military vehicle occupants. For the injury, study purposes have been used the human head as the critical human body part. Analysis of the head injury potential has been done through Head Injury Criterion (HIC) and Blunt Criterion (BC) as a verification tool and injury "correlation" investigation tool.
