    Combat Damage Estimation of Airplane Empennage

  • Original language description

    The work is concerned with damage to military aircraft during combat operations. Threats to combat aircraft, as well as approaches to combat damage evaluation are presented. The work also presents a study of evaluation of light military aircraft empennage damage level caused by 20 mm high explosive fragmentation munition by the means of expert assessment of the significance of the empennage elements. The output of the study is a graphical map and an aircraft vulnerability estimation depending on the damage level to the empennage, and the significance of structure elements. Options for further investigation in the areas of vulnerability assessment and combat damage repair are also outlined.
