Planning Processes for Close Air Support
Original language description
Close air support (CAS) represents a critical factor in military operations that allows you to deliver ammunition to targets near coalition forces. Due to the minimum distance between blue and red, CAS requires detailed coordination of crews with ground forces. The aim of this paper is to analyse the effect of the close air support of AH-Zl and Mil Mi-24 helicopters on the operational status and the number of casualties of the brigade task force in fight against enemy units using the MasaSword simulation program and subsequent comparison of the effect of individual types of helicopters. The results of the simulations are that when using AH-Zl helicopters in support of the brigade task force, losses of life will be reduced by approximately 25 % compared to support of Mil Mi-24 and further, simulations have shown that air support by both types of helicopters will contribute to a reduction in loss of life and contribute to a faster defeat of the enemy.
