Threat and Risk Management
Original language description
The contribution deals with the issue of technical and civilizational threats and risks and the possibilities of their management. The authors do not focus on androgenic disasters, crisis phenomena and extraordinary situations connected with nature. The focus of the contribution lies in the analysis of threats and risks of anthropogenic crises associated with human activity. It turns out that there are three large groups of global problems in this area. The first has an intersocial character: wars, war conflicts and disputes, economic backwardness of developing countries, increase in the gap between rich and poor countries, indebtedness of developing countries. The second is social in nature: population and food problem, depletion of natural resources of raw materials and water, ecological problem (global warming, glorification of the ozone layer, greenhouse effect, rising ocean and sea levels, spread of deserts, deforestation). The third includes anthroposocial problems: epidemics, drug addiction, addictive substances, illiteracy, human rights violations, terrorism, political and national conflicts. The article presents selected management techniques that allow solving (mitigating) the consequences of threats and crisis situations. The authors reflect on the future of a highly developed globalized world, which is developing massively unequally, for example, with respect to the ownership and distribution of wealth, access to raw materials, food, and even water. The contribution was influenced by the crisis events of recent years: the pandemic, the armed conflict in Ukraine, uncontrolled inflation, the expected recession, price spikes, shortages and energy prices.
