Chaos Generation via Inductorless Jerk Circuit: The Engineering Approach to Circuit Design and Implementation

  • Original language description

Jerk circuits for generating chaotic signals are 3rd-order systems containing a nonlinear element. Popular circuits use a very simple structure containing one inductor and other accumulating elements. Such a circuit is used in this paper to show how it can be transformed into an inductorless version of approximately the same circuit complexity. In contrast to the frequently used trial-and-error approach, a step by step procedure is presented for finding a set of circuit parameters that will lead to chaotic behavior. An engineering design of a circuit is described from the beginning to the circuit implementation using the off-the-shelf electronic components.
