Optimization of composition of water accepting scintillation cocktail
Original language description
This article deals with the new composition of the scintillation cocktail, which is characterized by excellent properties in terms of sample load capacity, especially concerning aqueous samples. New phosphors are used, which can fulfill the role of the primary phosphor of the scintillation cocktail due to their luminescent properties, in some cases without the need to use a wavelength shifter. The investigated new scintillation cocktail was tested for luminescence properties, detection efficiency, alpha/beta discrimination, and sample load capacity. The article presents the composition of a new scintillation cocktail, which with its properties surpasses several commercially used scintillation cocktails.
