Barley varieties registered in the Czech republic in 2005

Original language description

Based on the results from tests for the registration procedure running in 2002 - 2004 the spring barley malting varieties Bojos, Class, Radegast, Sebastian and Timori were registered in the Czech Republic in 2005. Further, winter barley varieties Campill, Nives and Premuda were registered. Varieties Bojos and Radegast were mainly due to lower apparent final attenuation recommended as the varieties suitable for the production of Czech beer. The varieties Class and Sebastian with very good malting qualityhave high content of extract and higher fermentation. The variety Timori with low extract content was registered due to a low level of lipoxogenase.

Czech description

Na základě výsledků zkoušek pro registraci probíhajících v letech 2002-2004 byly v České republice v roce 2005 registrovány sladovnické odrůdy jarního ječmene Bojos, Class, Radegast, Sebastian a Timori. Dále byly registrovány odrůdy ozimého ječmene Campill, Nives a Premuda. Odrůdy Bojos a Redegast byly především pro nižší stupeň dosažitelného stupně prokvašení doporučeny jako odrůdy vhodné pro výrobu českého piva. Odrůdy Class a Sebastian s výběrovou sladovnickou kvalitou mají vysoký obsah extraktu a vykazují hlubší úroveň prokvašení. Odrůda Timori s nízkým obsahem extraktu byla registrována pro nízkou aktivitu lipoxogenázy.
