Patenting propensity in the Czech Republic
Original language description
We have compared patenting propensity in the Czech Republic with eight EU countries. In comparison based on the EPO and USPTO patent counts per million inhabitants, the Czech Republic produced fewer patents than most other countries. The data have showna decrease of Czech patent counts after 1990 with some revival after 1996. The decrease was partially caused by transformation of major patent producers, but the main cause is little interest of local enterprises.

Srovnávali jsme produkci českých patentů od r. 1994 s 8 dalšími státy EU. Ve srovnání počtu patentů na obyvatele se ČR umístila na jednom z posledních míst. Srovnávali jsme jednak celkový počet patentů v jednotlivých letech, ale i počty patentů v různýchoborech.
