The report analyses the regional innovation system of the Moravskoslezsko region. The analysis starts with identification of main trends and challenges in the regional system; special attention is paid on recent trends in economic performance and regional innovation performance, which create a basis for identification of crucial challenges and their comprehensive description. Further, the innovation policy governance is analysed in order to trace main weaknesses and bottlenecks in the governance system.The report follows by an analysis of innovation policy instruments and orientations in terms of the policy mix, policies and initiatives in support of advance manufacturing, appraisal of regional innovation policies and good practices. Some possible future orientations and opportunities are sketched at the end of the report.
