Original language description
The current policy discourse clearly emphasizes the role of research and development (R&D) as a vital source of technological and societal progress. Mutual coupling of research organisations and entities from an application sector has thus become especially significant for innovation, as reiterated by the innovation system approach. Visualisation of the science-industry linkages in Czechia aims to contribute to this body of literature and describe particularities of cooperation in R&D project co-financed from public source by applying methods of social network analysis. Comprehensive data on collaborative R&D projects have allowed a detailed analysis of the nature of collaboration networks, revealing emerging patterns of science-industry linkages in rather inhibiting environment of former state-socialist country.
