Vojtěch Adam is a recognized scientist in the field of chemistry and biochemistry and he is an expert in the application of advanced materials in the biology. His research is focused on the protein called metallothionein with ability to bind metals. He and his research team believe that this protein is one of the key factors in preventing the emergence of resistance to cancer treatment with metal-based medicines. Confirmation of this fact could contribute to the more effective treatment of cancer in the future. Prof Adam is vice-rector of the Mendel University in Brno and researcher at the CEITEC Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic.
