Daniel Nývlt is an Associate Professor at the Department of Geography, Masaryk University in Brno, the Head of the Czech Antarctic Research Programme and scientist responsible for the Czech Polar Research Infrastructure. He leads the Polar-Geo-Lab, the geoscientific group focusing on the Polar Research. His main research interests are paleoclimatology, glacial and periglacial geomorphology and sedimentology, especially in the Polar Regions. The main aim of the Czech research is to carry out complex studies of relatively young deglaciated areas situated on the Antarctic coast and the scientific programme includes fields of Earth Sciences and several biological disciplines such as botany, ecology, ecophysiology, microbiology, and soil biology.
