Original language description
The study deals with the internal political history of the Prague Jewish Community in 1698-1720. It elucidates the reconciliation of the traditional political parties in 1702 motivated by the support of the messianic movement of Judah Hasid and explainsthe circumstances of the abolition of the elections in 1703. Described is the creation in 1718 of the ?Third Party? which tried to change the oligarchic political system. Special attention is paid to the period´s accute messianism which is studied, i.a.,by analysis of the messianic naming customs recorded in the circumcission register. Based on the analysis of memoires of three important personalities is studied the collective historical memory of the messianic events.
