The study based on extensive archival and text research examines how the Prague Jewish Museum's operated during the Second World War, how its extensive collections were put together, and what role the war-time Prague Jewish Community employees and the staff of their superior Nazi authority, Zentralstelle für jüdische Auswanderung, played in its creation and work. For the very first time, it also analysis how the myth about the ‘museum of an extinct race’ developed after the war.
