    Knowledge management as well as knowledge engineering efforts may fall under one of two approaches: the product-centric and the process-centric. These two approaches are distinct in the sense that they imply different strategic focus in knowledge share in companies, in education, in the use of different software tools and different models in support of decision making. The ?product? approach implies that knowledge is an object, e.g. thing that can be identified, located and manipulated. This means thatknowledge is possible to capture, distribute, measure and manage. This approach mainly focuses on products and artefacts containing and representing knowledge. Usually, this means content of documents, their creation, storage and reuse in computer-basedcorporate memories. The product-centric approach is more likely to be followed by those companies with a business strategy based on standardized and mature products.
