Knowledge engineering is a part of discipline of ?artificial intelligence? and has a strong connectivity to information technologies. It includes methodological tools for artificial intelligence methods implementation in automatic knowledge processing and creating, on the other hand it is strongly restricted by requirements on standard formalization of knowledge because of its computerized processing. Goal of this article is to analyze standard form of knowledge representation ? semantic network ? fromthe point of view of systems engineering and its requirements on properties of knowledge object.
