Methods of Group Decisions and Aggregation of Experts? opinions
Original language description
In many cases, the expert evaluation is the most reliable way of how to estimate result of a certain process. Estimates of several experts are usually needed for correct decisions. This chapter presents and systematically sorts methods of how to aggregate expert opinions with respect to various specifics and objectives of a requestor. Based on information theory this chapter introduces a concept of experts? consensus and discusses influence of emphasizing consensus or, oppositely, emphasizing extreme opinions of experts for selection a method for aggregation of estimates. Chapter takes into account also cases when opinions of experts have different value or weight. Text of this chapter differentiates situations, when estimated result is a binary one YES/NO or a numerical value of some attribute. Further chapter distinguishes cases, when requestor is interested only in an estimate itself or when he is interested also in a dispersion of opinions of individual experts.
