Original language description
Multicriteria decision making is a frequent task in economics, management and politics. What are suitable procedures on which such decision making could be based? If there are two alternatives a and b, usually the majority rule procedure is applied. Thepaper considers cases with more than two choices and discusses strategies of making the final decision. The concept of a fair decision function is introduced and properties of such functions studied. These concepts are applied in a case study which dealswith decision making on regional level of public administration.
