Exposure to credit risk has always been the primary and major source of problems in banks world-wide since granting credit is one of the main sources of income in commercial banks and needs to be managed well, or it may take the bank into large trouble or even bankruptcy. The aim of this study was to find out the impact of credit risk policies on bank?s profitability and how major Palestinian commercial banks performed their credit risk management techniques and practices from 2005- 2011.The results ofthe study were limited to five sample banks and were not generalized for the all banks operate in Palestine. Furthermore, a combined methodology of both quantitative and qualitative approaches was applied and focusing on the description of the outputs ofSPSS. Multiple regression models were used to do the empirical analysis and; develop two econometric models each model consisted of one dependent variable and five independent variables.
