Original language description
One of the economic conditions for securing original and transferred competences are the financial funds which they have the local self governments. Although the local self government must to have accept legislation in shape the law and regulations within financial management, the municipalities have an independence in deciding about getting and also about using of available financial funds. On the one side the financial management of the local self government present a tasks that the municipality wants to fulfil for providing the needs of its inhabitants and, on the other side, it represents the acquisition of financial resources through which these objectives will be met. The paper evaluates and compares the financial management of local self governments in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic based on selected indicators of financial analysis.
