Globalization is causing significant changes in business conditions in Slovakia. The manifestation of considerable globalization is the liberalization of trade and the integration of entities into larger entities with a significantly international environment of internal culture. If the firm wants to maintain its long-term competitiveness, it cannot trust only its current performance, but needs to systematically look for new opportunities to increase its position on the market. One of the possibilities is to evaluate the performance of firm through the results of time series analysis of financial indicators. Financial analysis can be used to identify key factors that affect the performance of firms in international business. The aim of the article is to evaluate changes in the structure and financial performance of firms in the Slovak Republic in relation to the chosen legal form of business in the period 2011-2016.
