Original language description
The importance of taking right and effective decisions is very easy to understand, but usually hard to achieve. Especially in situations where the decision maker has limited time and the consequences of a wrong decision can be disastrous. This article deals with uncertainty in decision making with a focus on emergency management. The approach can be use almost in all areas of human endeavor where decision making take place. With regards to the limited information that a decisionmaker has during an emergency situation, the entire approach works with vague input data. First, fuzzy linguistic scales and criteria are set. Then the emergency situation is evaluated. Based on the level of alpha cut, the reliability and completeness of information is taken into account. In the end, the defuzzification is done and the situations are sorted.
