    This study provides an overview of the aquaculture value chain in Georgia. It is part of a larger project, funded by the European Commission (EC) DG International Partnership (INTPA), entitled Value Chain Analysis for Development (VCA4D). The EC/INTPA is involved in supporting investment projects and policy dialogue (through budget support or other assistance schemes) to enhance sustainable development in agriculture and favour a Green Deal. Agri based Value Chains (VC) are a major channel for agricultural development and for food and nutrition security, due to their capacity to mobilise resources from various economic sectors, create economic value and generate employment. They represent an operational framework for engaging with farmers and business. The diagnosis of the aquaculture value chain intends to support the European Commission and the Georgian government in structuring their policy dialogue around the strategic issues that presently hinder the sustainable development and growth of the fre
