The chapter provides a review of some most used and recognized interdisciplinarity definitions and theories involved in its research. Out of it identifies some terminology traps connected with its use. In some cases, it namely needs to differentiate between their use appropriately in the research, as they represent different methods, terminology and procedures while using the adequate approach in the research work. A description of the basic, most common components of interdisciplinary research and its methodology is the next topic of the chapter, which, in the end, introduces the newest directions of interdisciplinary studies in economics.
