The influence of different ways of harvesting (1 or 3 cuts with the mass removing, 1 or 2 times mulching per year) on weed infestation in the stands of Bromus catharticus Vahl., Arrhenatherum elatius /L./ P.Beauv. ex J.S. et K.B. Presl., Festuca pratensis Huds., Dactylis aschersoniana Graebn., Trifolium repens L., Medicago lupulina L., Lotus corniculatus L., Medicago media Pers. and fallow was observed. The dry mass yield and number of stems of Elytrigia repens /L./ Desv. were measured. Legumes stands were the most infested by Elytrigia repens /L./ Desv. Yield of DM of Elytrigia repens /L./ Desv. ranged from 2.3 - 4.8 t.ha-1 (2x mulching) to 0.7 - 3.9 t.ha-1 (1x cutting or mulching) in the Trifolium repens L. stands. Grasses (especially Bromus catharticus Vahl.) were very little infested by Elytrigia repens /L./ Desv.
