Optimization of ETAAS measurement conditions for the determination of Cd and Cu in soil extracts.
Original language description
The determination of total element content in soil is not sufficient for an evaluation of soil-plant relationship. Many mild soil extraction agents are used to determine plant-available portions of the elements. 1 mol.l-1 NH4NO3, 0.43 mol.l-1 CH3COOH, and 0.01 mol.l-1 CaCl2 solutions belong to the most widely used soil extractants. ETAAS measurement conditions for the determination of Cd and Cu in these three soil extracts were tested in this experiment. Using L'vov platform, the optimal temperature ofpyrolysis for cadmium is 500 °C. If matrix modifier (1 mg P as NH4H2PO4) is used, optimal pyrolytical temperature is 700 °C in the case of CaCl2 extract, and 900 °C in acetic acid as well as nitrate extracts. Because of the presence of calcium in extract, the modifier efficiency could be influenced by reaction of Ca2+ with phosphate, and the increase of amount of phosphorus up to 8 mg P is necessary. Optimal pyrolytical temperature increased up to 1000 °C in that case. The optimal atomiz
