Original language description
The illustrative specimen listed above and the quotation of the literal sources documents an existence of the following species of the family Meloidae in the former military ranges area in Milovice - Mladá: Lytta vesicatoria, Meloe proscarabaeus, M. violaceus, M. scabriusculus, M. variegatus and M. cicatricosus. The last two species are reported only in old data. Further, based on the knowledge of their incidence, there is a possibility of a finding of the species Meloe decorus, M. brevicollis and M. rugosus. They have not been documented in the area of the former military ranges in Milovice - Mladá yet. However, their finding is very probable. All species of the Meloe family are listed in the supplement of the Notice 395/1992 Digest. Therefore they belong among protected animals. The species Lytta vesicatoria is nowadays extremely scarce in the Czech Republic.
