Original language description
In the Czech Republic soil surveys at the large scale were completed on the whole territory, except of urbanized areas. Because soil mapping of agricultural and forest lands was implemented by two institutions, there were differences in the soil classification. Some attempts were made to unify the both systems. Nowadays an unified classification system has been completed (2000-2001). Digitized map of soil association and regions (1: 250.000) is being compiled in modified SOTER system. Soil associationsdefined in terms of soil taxonomical units and soil parent material combinations are bubdivided or grouped according to geomorphology (altitude, slope angle, relief intensity). On a regional scale climate (ev. reconstructed phytocenoses) will be taken i nto consideration.
