    Two holarctic species of the family Dryomyzidae found in the study area represent 67 % of all species known from the Czech Republic. Larvae of Neuroctena analis are saprophagous, developing in rotting fungi (and also imaga are often found sitting and feeding on fruiting bodies of Phallus impudicus), excrements, dead insects, molluscs and dead vertebrate corpses, those of D. flaveola develop e.g. in horse or red deer excrements, human faeces or cow dung.
