  • Original language description

Representatives of the family Cremifaniidae are rarely recorded in Central Europe. No species has hitherto been known from the Czech Republic; MÁCA (1997) listed Cremifania nigrocellulata Czerny, 1904 only from Slovakia. Surprisingly, the first record ofthe family from the Czech Republic deals with the second, very distinctive European species, viz. C. lanceolata, described recently on the basis of a single male from Hungary (PAPP 1994). Thus, the new record (Bílina - Chloumek, hilltop steppe, 1 male, 13.-28. v.1998, Malaise trap) represents the second known locality (and specimen) of the species.
