    Maize energy in different growth stage.

  • Original language description

    There were observed the energy accumulation in particular plant parts of silage maize during its vegetation in the years 1997 -1999. Amount of heat of combustion energy in individual parts of maize plants ranged from 14,10 to 16,32 kJ.g-1 of dry matter.The results show increase of heat of combustion energy per 1 g of dry matter in the beginning and mild decrease in the end of vegetation. By the recount on one plant weight at harvest total amount of energy 3017 kJ.plant-1 were taken. Total energy valuewas the most influenced by weight of dry matter of individual plant parts. The lowest amount of energy was reached by leaves and the highest by maize ear.
