Original language description

Trials were conducted in Czech Republic on 5 farms to de-termine the efficacy of two benzimidazoles and ivermectin against naturally acquired cyathostomes of horses. Resistance was tested by the faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT) with mebendazole (8mg/kg), fenbendazole (7.5 mg/kg) and ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg). Ten days after treat-ment FECRT values indicated resistance to benzimidazoles on all farms. Efficacies of both benzimidazoles ranged bet-ween 20.6 % and 83.9 % (mebendazole), and between 6.1 %and 78.8 % (fenbendazole).
