Original language description
Nearctic species of Rhamphomyia (Megacyttarus) are revised. Altogether 52 new species are described and 12 species are redescribed. Three new synonyms are established,viz, R. irregularis LOEW, 1864 is a syn. of R. hirtipes LOEW, 1864, R. longipennis LOEW, 1861 is a syn.of R.liturata LOEW, 1861 and R. amplicella COQUILLETT? 1895 is a syn. of R. pachymera BIGOT,1887. All species are keyed and illustrated.
