Soil GIS is recently widely used in the Czech Republic. Soil Geographical Information System (PUGIS) for the Czech Republic (acronym:PUGIS) is based on : the cartographic soil maps in digital forms, digitized informationj concerning extrinsic factors ( geomorphology, climate, vegetation, land use etc., pedon data from soil surveys, data from inventoires of environmentally important porperties. Very important are some interpratation maps, wch are derived from research field inventories of some soil properties, generalized by means of maps of soil assciations and some important soil properties.
